From Trauma to Transformation
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a big dreamer, dancing to the beat of my own drum. Growing up in the small town of Beaumont, Tx, I was weird, wasn’t the most popular girl in school, and styled myself in vibrant, eclectic clothes just to go nowhere sometimes. I was a walking disco ball.
This got on my dad’s nerves a lot, especially as a traditional, military man lol. But my mom did her best to nurture my difference even though I was still figuring it all out.
In my childhood, I experienced seeing family members self-medicate their pain with alcohol and drugs, which often left me feeling broken, abused, and confused about my significance in the world. These unresolved issues developed a hunger for acceptance, validation, and love in all the wrong places.
This search for significance led me to perform, please the crowd, chase perfection and pretend to be everything but myself. The stage was my refuge, costumes and makeup became my armor, but behind the stage, I was chronically insecure, depressed, and suicidal.

God had a different plan, and His divine disruption redirected my path. Surrendering my dreams, I discovered a life of true significance in Jesus. It was through this reinvention journey that I uncovered that I was made for more. My journey from entertainment to empowerment unlocked a passion for cultivating your confidence by helping you be who you were Taylor Made to be.
